Shri Hindutakht Strongly Condemns Targeted Tourist Massacre in Pahalgam, Urges Government for Decisive Action
April 22, 2025:
On April 22, 2025, a brutal terrorist attack in Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, claimed the lives of at least 28 people, including 25 tourists and a local pony operator. The attackers, armed with AK-47s and M4 carbines and dressed in military-style uniforms, targeted non-Muslim tourists, asking them to recite Islamic verses to identify their religion before opening fire. The Resistance Front, linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, initially claimed responsibility but later retracted their statement.
The massacre, the deadliest on civilians in India since the 2008 Mumbai attacks, has reignited tensions between India and Pakistan. India has blamed Pakistan for backing the assault, prompting diplomatic retaliation from both sides. In response, Indian authorities have launched extensive security operations, detaining over 2,000 residents under anti-terrorism laws and demolishing homes of alleged militants' families, actions that have been criticized for causing widespread fear and displacement among innocent civilians.
The attack has also raised concerns about the security situation in Kashmir, especially ahead of the annual Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage. Despite claims of improved security and a decline in militancy, the incident underscores the persistent threat of terrorism in the region and its potential to disrupt peace and tourism.
Survivors have recounted harrowing experiences, with one woman stating that the attackers killed her husband and told her to "Go tell this to Modi," referring to India's Prime Minister. The incident has left the local population in fear and uncertainty, with many describing the situation as a "living hell."
Shri Hindutakht, a global organization dedicated to the preservation of Sanatan Dharma and Hindu unity, has vehemently condemned the heinous terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, where innocent Hindu tourists and locals were brutally targeted based on their religious identity. The organization described the attack as a "premeditated crime against humanity" and a direct assault on India’s cultural sovereignty.
