Get InvolvedFrom Humble Beginnings to a Global Movement
Shree Hindu Takht’s journey began in 2005 as a grassroots initiative in Punjab, inspired by the urgent need to protect Hindu temples and revive Sanatan Dharma. Founded by Shri Parveen Kumar, a young social worker and RSS volunteer, the organization initially focused on restoring neglected shrines and organizing Vedic workshops in rural communities. With limited resources but boundless determination, Shri Parveen mobilized local volunteers to reclaim the Mata Bagla Mukhi Temple, a 17th-century shrine on the verge of collapse. This project became a turning point, proving that collective action could breathe life into forgotten heritage.
By 2010, the movement expanded beyond Punjab. The establishment of our first Gurukul in Amritsar marked a new chapter. Here, 50 students from marginalized backgrounds studied Sanskrit, Vedic mathematics, and classical arts under the guidance of retired scholars. Word spread rapidly, and soon, similar Gurukuls sprouted in Haryana, Uttarakhand, and Odisha. These institutions became hubs for preserving ancient knowledge while addressing modern challenges like digital literacy and environmental sustainability.
The 2020s catapulted Shree Hindu Takht onto the global stage. The COVID-19 pandemic tested our resolve, but it also showcased our adaptability. We pivoted to distribute 1 million meals, oxygen concentrators, and sanitary kits across 12 states, earning accolades from state governments and spiritual leaders. Today, our operations span 15+ nations, with 150+ annual projects ranging from temple restorations in Uttar Pradesh to cultural diplomacy programs in Canada. This evolution—from a local seva group to an international force—reflects the unwavering commitment of our volunteers and the timeless relevance of Sanatan values.
A Legacy of Recognition
Shri Parveen’s contributions have earned national and international acclaim. In 2020, he received the SDM Sanjeev Sharma Award for spearheading pandemic relief efforts, including the distribution of 10,000 PPE kits to frontline workers. The same year, Assam Chief Minister Shri Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded his efforts to bridge cultural divides in the Northeast through interfaith dialogues and skill-development workshops. Spiritual luminaries like Swami Ramdev Ji and Acharya Kailashanand Giri Maharaj have blessed his work, with the latter conferring the Hindu Ratna Samman in 2022 for “reviving Dharma in the modern era.”
The Pillars of Our Existence
Dharma Raksha:
For Shree Hindu Takht, Dharma Raksha is not a slogan but a sacred duty. We combat threats to Hindu identity through legal advocacy, educational reforms, and grassroots mobilization. Our legal wing has filed 50+ petitions against temple encroachments, including a landmark case to reclaim the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura. Simultaneously, we run awareness campaigns in tribal areas to counter forced conversions, offering vocational training and microloans to economically vulnerable Hindus. This dual approach—defending rights while addressing root causes—ensures sustainable change.
Sewa:
Shri Parveen’s contributions have earned national and international acclaim. Samrasta:
Samrasta—unity in diversity—guides every initiative. We bridge divides between Hindu sects, castes, and regions through intercommunity dialogues and collaborative festivals. In Kerala, our annual Vishwa Hindu Sammelan brings together Namboodiri Brahmins, Dalit activists, and tribal leaders to celebrate shared heritage. Internationally, we partner with Sikh and Jain organizations to host multicultural events, proving that Hindu unity does not mean exclusivity. This ethos extends to environmental stewardship: our “Green Temples” initiative promotes solar-powered shrines and zero-waste rituals, aligning ecological responsibility with spiritual practice.
Preserving Hindu Heritage
Temple Restoration & Revival:
“Apni Virasat Bachaye, Apna Haq Paye” (Save Our Heritage, Claim Our Rights). Historic temples, once symbols of Hindu resilience, have faced systematic erasure. Shree Hindu Takht’s Heritage Revival Project employs archaeologists, historians, and artisans to restore these sites. For example, the 300-year-old Kali Mata Temple in Kolkata was rebuilt using traditional sandstone carving techniques, reviving nearly extinct craftsmanship. Each restored temple hosts daily Vedic classes, ensuring they remain living centers of culture, not mere relics.
Vedic Education & Digital Archives:
Our Vidya Sankalp Program digitizes rare manuscripts, making over 5,000 ancient texts accessible online. Partnering with IIT scholars, we’ve developed AI tools to translate Sanskrit shlokas into regional languages, democratizing access to spiritual wisdom. Meanwhile, our Gurukuls blend tradition with innovation—students learn coding alongside the Bhagavad Gita, preparing them to uphold Dharma in a tech-driven world.
Empowering the Marginalized
Women’s Upliftment:
In Rajasthan’s tribal belts, our Matra Shakti Initiative trains women in organic farming and handicrafts, linking them to e-commerce platforms for financial independence. Over 2,000 women have launched microbusinesses, breaking cycles of poverty and patriarchy. Additionally, we run self-defense workshops and legal literacy camps to combat gender-based violence.
Youth Leadership:
The Yuva Chetna Program mentors 5,000+ teenagers annually through adventure camps, coding bootcamps, and Dharmic leadership retreats. Participants have spearheaded projects like rainwater harvesting in Chennai slums and AI-driven apps to report temple vandalism. This fusion of tradition and modernity ensures the next generation leads with both wisdom and innovation.
Uniting Hindus Across Borders
From Toronto to Tashkent, Shree Hindu Takht’s Global Hindu Unity Network fosters cultural pride and collective action. In Canada, our advocacy led to the inclusion of Hindu festivals in public school calendars, while in Dubai, we secured government approval for the first Hindu crematorium. The Youth Connect Program organizes pilgrimages to Kashi and Rameshwaram for diaspora youth, rekindling their connection to Bharat’s spiritual geography.
During crises, our international chapters shine. After the 2023 Turkey earthquake, volunteers from our UAE unit provided shelter to 200+ Hindu families stranded in Ankara. Similarly, our Australian team lobbied for visa relaxations for Hindu scholars, ensuring the continuity of Vedic teachings abroad. These efforts are amplified through partnerships with global bodies like the Hindu American Foundation and the World Hindu Council.
A Beacon of Hope in Turbulent Times
In an era of cultural homogenization and religious persecution, Shree Hindu Takht stands as a bulwark for Hindu identity. Unlike transient NGOs, our work is rooted in millennia-old wisdom, adapted to contemporary challenges. We don’t just feed the hungry—we empower them to become custodians of their heritage. We don’t just restore temples—we reignite their role as community anchors.
Our transparency sets us apart. Donors receive GPS-tracked updates on funded projects, whether a child’s scholarship in Odisha or a temple mural in Varanasi. With 10,000+ volunteers and 80% of funds reaching beneficiaries, we maximize impact while minimizing bureaucracy. This integrity has earned the trust of 500,000+ supporters worldwide, making us a global family united by Dharma.
